Beskrivelse fra sælger
En særligt samlerobjekt-udgivelse til Record Store Day 2019: en picture-disc-udgave af David Bowies klassiske 1973-album Pin Ups, udgivet af Parlophone under katalognummer DB69736P.
Issued specifically for Record Store Day on 13 April 2019, this special edition transforms the famous Pin Ups artwork into a full-size 12-inch picture disc, with the iconic Bowie-and-Twiggy image featured on Side One and a striking Mick Rock image treatment based on photographs from the original Pin Ups sessions adorning Side Two. The edition was designed as a celebration of the original album and includes a reproduction of the original insert, adding considerably to the presentation.
Pin Ups occupies a fascinating place in Bowie's catalogue. Rather than an album of new compositions, Bowie revisited songs by many of the British groups that had influenced him during the 1964–1967 London club era. The album includes Bowie's interpretations of songs associated with Pink Floyd, The Who, The Yardbirds, The Pretty Things, The Kinks, The Easybeats, The Merseys and others, with highlights including "See Emily Play," "I Can't Explain," "Friday On My Mind," "Sorrow," "Shapes Of Things" and "Where Have All The Good Times Gone?" The original album was produced by David Bowie and Ken Scott, with major contributions from Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder, Aynsley Dunbar and Mike Garson.
