Vase - Bronze - Japan - Krysantemumskjold - "Hōun" (峰雲) (Ingen mindstepris)

Item Description This is a copper vase (flower copper ware) made in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. Takaoka is known as one of Japan's leading centers of traditional metal casting, celebrated under the name "Takaoka Dōki" (Takaoka copperware). The base bears the maker's mark "Hōun" (峰雲). The vase features a rounded, spherical body with a warm, lustrous copper-toned finish. The front is adorned with a gilded chrysanthemum crest, a traditional motif used on prestigious commemorative and ceremonial pieces. The vase is mounted on a dedicated lacquered wooden base (pedestal), the underside of which bears the inscription "Jokun Jushō Kinen – November 3, Heisei 4" (Commemorating the Receipt of a Decoration) along with the name of the donor. This indicates that the piece was originally created as a formal presentation gift to mark the award of a decoration. This lot includes only the copper vase itself and the lacquered wooden base. Dimensions Height: 19 cm Width: 12 cm Depth: 12 cm Weight 686 g Condition The vase remains in unused condition, retaining its original glossy lacquer finish intact. There are no signs that it was ever used as a flower vessel. The lacquered wooden base shows only minor handling marks from years of storage. Additional Information Origin: Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan Technique: Takaoka Dōki (traditional copper casting) Material: Copper (cast copper) Signature: Engraved mark "Hōun" on the base Accessories: Dedicated lacquered wooden base included The item will be carefully packaged and shipped by Japan Post or DHL, depending on the situation. Due to the changes to the EU tax-free (VAT) system, Japan Post has become unable to ship certain goods valued at €150 or less to an increasing number of European countries. Depending on the destination and circumstances, the shipping method may therefore be changed from Japan Post to DHL. Delivery normally takes approximately 3 weeks, or up to 3 months if the item is shipped by sea. Please note that import duties, taxes, customs fees, and other charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. For customs clearance, your local customs office or delivery company may contact you by phone or email. To avoid any delays or the return of the parcel, please ensure that you can respond promptly to any such requests. If the parcel is returned due to an inability to contact you or complete customs clearance, additional shipping charges, which may be more than twice the original shipping cost, will apply for reshipment. Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation. We will do our utmost to ensure that your item arrives safely and without any issues.
