Seiko - Chronograph - Ingen mindstepris - 7T92-0DX0 - Mænd - 2000-2010

Seiko quartz chronograph, calibre 7T92, reference 7T92-0DX0, running – dark olive green dial with white Arabic numerals and yellow accents, 24-hour inner ring, 1/20-second, small-seconds and chronograph-minute registers, compass bezel, 10 bar, on its original Seiko steel bracelet, with box and instruction booklet. PLEASE NOTE: the dial is dark green, not black. The seller's own title describes it as black; measured off the photographs it sits at a hue of about 65 to 100 degrees with a saturation of around 20 per cent, a deep matte olive green that reads as near-black in dim light. The chronograph seconds hand was not at zero when the watch was photographed: it stands at about the 20-second position in every frame while the 1/20-second and chronograph-minute hands sit at zero and the watch itself keeps time normally. This is most likely simply a chronograph that was stopped and not reset, but the reset has not been operated, and if the hand does not return to zero it would need realigning. There is a small grey mark, about 2 by 1 mm, on the dial just below the luminous dot at 3 o'clock, which appears in both the frontal and the angled photographs; whether it sits on the dial or on the inside of the crystal has not been established. The bracelet has brown deposits in the joints between several links, the inner plate of the clasp shows a pitted, roughened surface, and there is grime around the pushers and under the lugs. These are described under Condition below and are the reason this watch is graded Good rather than Very good. The box is a navy fabric-covered watch box without a visible maker's name, so it is described simply as a box; the instruction booklet is the Seiko booklet for the 7T92 calibre. No warranty card is included. The code printed at the foot of the dial begins 7T92 and differs from the case code 7T92-0DX0 engraved on the caseback: on Seiko watches the dial code identifies the dial and the case code identifies the case, so the two are not expected to match and the difference is not a sign of a replaced part. The caseback is marked WATER RESISTANT 10BAR and the dial 100M, but the gaskets have never been tested or replaced, so the water resistance is not guaranteed and the watch should be kept away from water. The crystal is not marked as sapphire anywhere, so no claim is made about its material. The case diameter has been measured with a caliper at 38 mm. The lug width has not yet been measured and is given below as an approximation. Overview A Seiko quartz chronograph on the 7T92 calibre in the field-watch style, here in an uncommon colourway: a matte dark olive green dial with white Arabic numerals at the hours, a yellow 24-hour inner ring reading 13 to 24, a yellow ring on the 1/20-second register at 12 and a yellow central chronograph seconds hand. The dial carries SEIKO and CHRONOGRAPH above the centre and 100M beside the date, with the running seconds at 9 and the chronograph-minute counter at 6, and white luminous dots at the five-minute positions. The hour and minute hands are white luminous skeleton hands, the minute hand with a yellow section at its root. The date sits at 3 o'clock in a white-framed window, and the brushed steel bezel carries the eight compass points from N round to NW. The solid screw-down caseback is engraved with the case code and the serial number, and the watch is on the original three-row Seiko bracelet with SEIKO on the clasp. Specifications - Brand: Seiko - Model: no model or line name appears on the watch; the dial reads SEIKO and CHRONOGRAPH - Reference number: 7T92-0DX0, engraved on the caseback - Serial number: 690096, engraved on the caseback - Movement: quartz chronograph, Seiko calibre 7T92, with 1/20-second counter, chronograph-minute counter, small seconds and date - Date of manufacture: estimated at September 2006 from the serial number under Seiko's dating convention, consistent with the production period of the 7T92 calibre; Seiko's serial numbers repeat every ten years, so the year cannot be confirmed with certainty from the number alone - Case: stainless steel with a brushed finish, a fixed bezel marked with the compass points N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW in black, a crown at 3 and pushers at 2 and 4. Solid screw-down caseback engraved SEIKO / 690096 / WATER RESISTANT 10BAR / ST.STEEL / MOVEMENT JAPAN CASED IN CHINA / 7T92-0DX0, with two small inspection marks. No sticker. No plating and no precious-metal hallmark anywhere. - Case diameter: 38 mm excluding the crown - Crystal: flat, with no scratches, chips or cracks found. The material is not marked anywhere – see the note above. - Dial: dark olive green, matte, with no sunray. Measured off the photographs with the white background in the same frame used to correct the white balance, the dial reads at a hue of 65 to 100 degrees, a saturation of 18 to 22 per cent and a brightness of 15 to 25 per cent across three sample points, so a deep, even olive green. - Dial printing and fittings: SEIKO and CHRONOGRAPH above the centre, 100M beside the date at 3 o'clock, MOV'T JAPAN at the lower left edge and the dial code beginning 7T92 at the lower right edge, partly too small to read in the photographs - Registers: 1/20-second counter at 12 o'clock with a yellow ring; running seconds at 9 o'clock marked 20, 40 and 60; chronograph-minute counter at 6 o'clock marked 3, 6, 9 and 12 - Markers: printed white Arabic numerals at the hours with a double bar at 12, white luminous dots at the five-minute positions, and a yellow 24-hour inner ring reading 13 to 24 - Hands: white luminous skeleton hour and minute hands, the minute hand with a yellow section at the root; yellow central chronograph seconds hand; silver register hands. The luminous material is white with no visible ageing; whether it still glows has not been tested. - Date: window at 3 o'clock with a white frame, white disc with black numerals. There is no day – this is a date-only model. - Bezel: fixed brushed steel bezel with the compass points in black - Water resistance: 10 bar per the caseback and 100M per the dial, but the gaskets have not been tested – see the note above - Bracelet: original Seiko stainless steel bracelet, three-row design with a brushed finish and fitted end pieces, and a push-button three-fold clasp with SEIKO on the cover. No other maker's name appears anywhere on it. Eight micro-adjustment holes. No spare links are included. - Lug width: approximately 20 mm, estimated from the photographs – to be confirmed by measurement - Wearable size: as linked the bracelet fits a wrist of approximately 180 to 185 mm, taken from the graduated cone in the photographs; the eight micro-adjustment holes allow it to be shortened in small steps. No spare links are included, so it cannot be lengthened beyond this. - Weight: 104.09 g - Included: a navy fabric-covered watch box and the Seiko instruction booklet for the 7T92 calibre – see the note above Condition Good, with visible signs of wear. - Dial: a small grey mark, about 2 by 1 mm, just below the luminous dot at 3 o'clock, as described in the note above. Otherwise no stains, no crazing, no discolouration and no lifting of the printing were found, and the luminous dots and hand inlays are white and complete. - Chronograph seconds hand: standing at about the 20-second position rather than at zero, as described in the note above; the other two chronograph hands are at zero. - Crystal: no scratches, chips or cracks were found. - Hands: all straight and clean, with no corrosion. - Case and bezel: hairlines and light scuffing across the case, the bezel and the lugs from normal wear, with brown grime in the recesses around the pushers and under the lugs. No dents, no chips and no distortion. The compass markings are complete. - Caseback: light scratches from normal wear. The engraving is legible, the case code shallowly struck. - Crown and pushers: intact and correctly seated, with no deformation. - Corrosion: no green corrosion was found anywhere on the watch. For the clasp plate and the bracelet joints, see below. - Bracelet and clasp: no broken or missing links. Hairlines on the links and scratches on the extension plate from normal wear. Brown deposits in the joints between several links, and a pitted, roughened surface on the inner retaining plate of the clasp, as described in the note above. The clasp closes and latches correctly. - Box and booklet: the box has light rubbing at the corners and is not crushed; the instruction booklet is complete but creased. Working order The watch is running. The small seconds hand at 9 o'clock was checked against the timestamps of four photographs spanning 56 seconds: across the intervals of 9, 10 and 37 seconds it advanced by about 9, 11 and 36 seconds respectively, so it is keeping time in one-second steps with no interruption. The 1/20-second hand and the chronograph-minute hand sit at zero in every frame; the central chronograph seconds hand stands at about the 20-second position, as described above, and the reset has not been operated. The chronograph start, stop and reset functions, the date changeover, the timekeeping accuracy and the water resistance have not been tested with equipment, and the battery's remaining life is unknown. Please consider this a used quartz watch; the battery is a consumable part and may need replacing at some point. Included Watch, bracelet, a navy fabric-covered watch box and the Seiko 7T92 instruction booklet. No warranty card, spare links, tags or other accessories. Shipping Ships from Japan. Registered and insured shipping, mainly via DHL or FedEx. Import duties or taxes may apply depending on the buyer's country. These charges must be paid by the buyer.
