Ferrari by Cartier – The Secret Collaboration Between Two Legends
A Rare Fusion of Italian Passion and French Elegance

This exceptional Ferrari by Cartier Chronograph embodies the rare alliance between two of the world’s most prestigious brands — Ferrari and Cartier. Created in the 1980s during a short-lived but extraordinary collaboration, this timepiece represents a meeting of speed and sophistication: the mechanical precision of Cartier fused with the racing spirit of Ferrari.

Case: Crafted from stainless steel, measuring 40 mm, with a distinctive black and gold-tone bezel engraved with the Ferrari logo. The design reflects both racing functionality and Cartier’s refined aesthetic sensibility, resulting in a watch that stands out for its balanced proportions and striking character.

Glass: Durable mineral crystal, providing excellent clarity and resistance to scratches.

Dial: Iconic Ferrari red dial, instantly recognizable and symbolic of the brand’s racing DNA. The black grid pattern and yellow accents recall dashboard instruments from Ferrari’s Formula 1 era, while the central Ferrari Cavallino Rampante emblem asserts its heritage. The layout features three chronograph subdials and a day-date window, harmoniously integrated into the design.

Movement: High-precision Swiss Quartz Movement, chosen by Cartier for its accuracy and reliability, ensuring perfect timekeeping and smooth chronograph operation.

Functions:

Hours, minutes, seconds

Day and date display

Chronograph with multiple subdials for elapsed time measurement

Tachymeter scale for speed calculation

Water Resistance: Untested for water.

Strap: Generic black leather strap fitted with a supplementary original Ferrari buckle, maintaining the authentic look and feel of the original model.

Condition: Grade B+ – well-preserved vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age and normal use. The dial and functions remain crisp and fully legible.

Box: Supplied with a generic presentation box.

Story:
In the mid-1980s, Ferrari sought to expand its influence beyond the automotive world, envisioning a line of luxury accessories that reflected the brand’s racing soul. For this bold move, the company partnered discreetly with Cartier, one of the world’s finest watchmakers, to design and produce a limited line of Ferrari-branded watches.

This collaboration was a carefully guarded secret — while Cartier handled the design and technical supervision, the watches were marketed exclusively under the Ferrari brand, emphasizing their motorsport prestige. The result was a collection that blended Italian performance aesthetics with French haute horlogerie precision.

Each watch from this series reflects the dynamism of Ferrari dashboards, the geometry of racing instruments, and Cartier’s timeless refinement. The red dial became an emblem of the collaboration — a symbol of both speed and passion.

Today, the Ferrari by Cartier watches are highly sought after by collectors, not only for their rarity but also for the unique story they tell — one of two luxury powerhouses coming together for a brief moment in history to create something truly extraordinary.

This particular model, with its vivid red dial and distinctive design language, remains a testament to that golden era of innovation and cross-brand excellence.
