Caol Ila 25-year-old is a unique single malt whiskey from the island of Islay in Scotland, distilled in the largest distillery on the island, founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson. It matures for 25 years in barrels of American bourbon and European oak, which gives it a balanced profile with subtle peat smoke, fruit sweetness and sea notes. This whiskey with a strength of 43% ABV was introduced to the permanent offer in 2010 and is valued for its elegance, typical of the lighter Islay malts. Flavour characteristics Aroma: Complex and sweet and spicy, with notes of dried fruit (pears, apricots), citrus (lemon peel), delicate peat, seaweed and anise. In the background, you can feel the accents of the sea breeze and honey oak. Taste: Rich and creamy, with a buttery texture, toffee, caramelism, roasted almonds, dark chocolate and a slight sea saltiness. Sweet fruits dominate, balanced with peat smoke, pepper, ginger and notes of leather and black pepper. Finish: Long and soft, with fruity freshness, bitter oak and distant echos of peat.
