European Perfume bottles - Vase (2) - Porcelæn
A rare and elegant pair of Chinese fine porcelain vases from the late Qing Dynasty (1644–1912), likely produced circa 1900, mounted with fine Portuguese silver (833/1000) bearing the “Javali II” hallmark from Porto, officially in use from 1887 to 1937.
Each vase is covered in a refined bluish-violet glaze with a deep, nearly black tone that reveals subtle cobalt and purple hues in the light. This luxurious finish is characteristic of high-quality export porcelain from the late imperial period.
The silver mounts are beautifully crafted in repoussé with floral motifs, delicately wrapping the neck and body. The Portuguese hallmark confirms the silver purity of 833 millesimal fineness, used in Porto during the specified period.
