Locust Folding Chairs by Torstein Nilsen for Møremøbler (now Fora Form) – 1982/1984 – Set of 2 with Wall Mounts Rare pair of Locust folding chairs, designed by Torstein Nilsen and produced by Møremøbler AS (now known as Fora Form) on the west coast of Norway around 1984. These chairs are an excellent example of Norwegian/Scandinavian ingenuity in functional furniture design — elegant, mechanical, and space-saving. Crafted from lacquered beech wood with red lacquered steel supports, the Locust chair folds completely flat when not in use and hangs on the wall as a decorative sculptural element. When unfolded, it locks into a sturdy seating position within seconds. This pair comes with the original matching wall brackets, rarely preserved together with the chairs. The Locust is part of the National Museum of Norway’s permanent collection, registered as Klappstol / Locust, designed 1982 and produced 1984 by Møremøbler (now Fora Form). Minor traces of use consistent with age — lacquer is bright, joints solid, mechanism smooth. All components intact, including wall mounts and red cross supports.
