I’ve visited beautiful private collections with some of the artists I admire the most.
David was born in a family who loved special objects. Both of his grandfathers were avid collectors, and it’s a passion that they passed on to him. And as soon as he was old enough to walk, his parents would take him on trips to the museum. He went on to study Art History and Law at Lille III and La Sorbonne in Paris. From there, his career took him to New York, where he worked for Swann Auction Galleries, Bonhams and Phillips, before making his way back to Paris to train as an auctioneer at Christie's. As a Classical Art Expert, David loves to make works by Picasso, Chagall and Dali accessible to Catawiki buyers. He enjoys curating auctions that encourage people to start their collection or even find a new passion.
