I’m delighted to be able to give beautiful objects the spotlight they deserve – sharing them with a community of like-minded collectors.

Florentin studied Art History in Paris, specialising in 17th century French royal architecture. His thesis explored ‘Château-Neuf de Saint-Germain-en-Laye’: a spectacular but largely demolished castle, which he seeked to reconstruct via old documents and inventories. Tracing back the royals’ elaborate table settings sparked his appetite for decorative objects. From there, Florentin moved to London for an internship at auction house Christie’s, before settling down in Amsterdam where he became familiar with decorative objects from the Dutch Golden Age. The bliss and passion he feels when working then led him to Catawiki, where Florentin joined the Tableware & Ceramics department. Recently, he evaluated a porcelain dessert set identical to the one his grandmother favoured to serve her freshly baked cake on — bringing back fond memories of childhood visits to her home. It’s precisely this personal aspect that excites Florentin most about his niche: how objects can be collected for their artistry, yet also used to create beautiful moments with friends and family. To collect yours, explore his wonderful auctions, created with a keen eye for quality and trends.
