Paul has always been fascinated by art and history, and went on to earn a Bachelors of Arts, majoring in early Dutch paintings and drawings. He loves that objects and art create a living history that can be passed down through generations. While studying, Paul worked as a junior specialist in Sotheby’s cataloguing furniture and ceramics which taught him the art of appraising, arranging and marketing objet d’art. He then went on to join Amsterdam’s prestigious Rijksmuseum, working amongst some of the best-known art in living history. Paul brought his expertise in European antiques to Catawiki in 2019, and loves that every day he is surprised by a new discovery, with the opportunity to learn a new story and share it with the world.
