Pasquale Picca is one of Catawiki’s in-house experts in vintage and luxury watches. With over 15 years of experience and a family legacy rooted in watchmaking, he reviews each piece with the rigorous standards of a master horologist to ensure that only the best watches reach auction. Pasquale’s journey into horology began early. As a third-generation watchmaker, he grew up surrounded by gears, tools, and stories of time. Inspired by his grandfather and uncle—both watchmakers since the 1950s—Pasquale was drawn to the delicate art of restoring mechanical movements. Becoming a qualified watchmaker took him to Switzerland, where he further refined his skills in the heart of the watchmaking industry. In 2016, he founded his own boutique in a small town in Southern Italy, called CHRONOLAB. Dedicated to the repair, evaluation, and resale of both vintage and modern high-end watches, today it is known as CHLB producing luxury “Made in Italy” watches and accessories for a sophisticated clientele. Over time, Pasquale developed an eye for rare finds and now curates models from brands like OMEGA, IWC, and Tudor for Catawiki’s auctions. Every lot is reviewed for photographic clarity, descriptions and overall condition; only watches that meet the expectations of serious collectors make the cut. Beyond the workbench, Pasquale also shares his knowledge writing of his first book: The Last Icons of Time. Whether through CHLB or Catawiki, his mission remains the same: to connect people with horological treasures that stand the test of time.
