Description from the seller
Natural gold nugget of 17.23 grams, presented with a discreetly integrated pendant loop, allowing it to be worn while preserving the natural character of the specimen.
The nugget displays a crystalline, sponge-like structure, with rounded, irregular growth forms. This morphology strongly suggests a primary (lode) gold origin, formed in quartz veins or hard rock deposits, rather than an alluvial river nugget, which would typically show smoother, water-worn surfaces.
The pendant loop is neatly and discreetly welded, professionally executed. The loop has been acid tested, is stamped, and indicates very high gold purity. The nugget itself is also of high natural purity, consistent with crystalline gold specimens.
The piece was purchased in Switzerland approximately 25 years ago. Based on its morphology and comparison with documented specimens, the most plausible geological origins are Australia (Western Australia) or Alaska (USA), both regions known for producing crystalline, non-alluvial gold nuggets of similar structure. A definitive origin cannot be certified without geological analysis, and the attribution is therefore made as an informed hypothesis.
