Minted piece at the Mexico City mint with FT/FM assay marks. The obverse features the laureate portrait of the monarch looking to the right, with a draped bust and cuirass, surrounded by the royal legend. The reverse shows the crowned shield of Spain quartered with Castile, León, Granada and the Bourbon fleurs-de-lis in the central escutcheon, flanked by the Pillars of Hercules with their respective legends, all surrounded by a circular inscription. A specimen well centered with discernible details still visible in both the portrait and the shield. A historically representative and highly sought-after coin within the series of the colonial 8 reales of Mexico.
