Description from the seller
Pair of salt and pepper shakers in solid silver with gilded interior (vermeil) from the year 1800 and teaspoons by Walker & Hall – / Sheffield, 1902.
Exceptional English set consisting of a salt shaker and a pepper shaker made of solid silver, with an elegant artisanal design and a refined vermeil gold interior.
These pieces, with harmonious proportions, rest on three curved legs and feature exquisite floral and vegetal relief inspired by Rococo, with smooth cartouches that could have once borne family engravings or heraldic shields. Their finely chiseled upper edge adds movement and light to the composition.
Inside, they preserve the original gold, a symbol of prestige and protection against salt. The warm shine of vermeil contrasts with the nobility of silver, creating a sense of discreet luxury and visual balance.
The set is accompanied by two spoons marked by Walker & Hall, Sheffield (1902), also in silver with gold plating, a testament to the technical virtuosity and refined taste of the Edwardian era.
