Very rare oil lamp with seven burners and reflector.
The reflector is decorated with a leaf
Dating: 1st century AD, imperial period, Judea
Dimensions: 12 cm x 9 cm
Provenance: French auction house, Paris, from an old French collection
Seven wick oil lamp - reminiscent of a seven-branched Hebrew menorah, a symbol of Judaism since ancient times - with a disc decorated with petal-like motifs radiating from the central filling hole and a handle also decorated with a seven-petaled leaf.
