AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Pair of wall sconces (2) vintage retro modern mid-century honeycomb beehive Jules Wabbes.

Design of the 1950s circa 1953. Midcentury Modern, Modernist, Modernism.

Very special design. Baguette lamps. 32 hand-welded hexagonal tubes hiding two bulbs. Bulb cover. Made of brass.

These iconic lamps were designed in 1953 for the entrance hall of the Declercq house, built by André Jacqmain and Jules Wabbes.

To make them visible from the bottom and top, Jules Wabbes designed a lamp composed of welded sections of hexagonal tubes, so that the light source (bulb) is filtered from both sides by the metal structure.

Similar appliques decorated the apartment of the King and Queen of Belgium on the Godetia, the Belgian navy ship.

Some brands but in very good condition.

In perfect working order.

E27 lamp fittings. The porcelain connectors may have been replaced, but the wiring might not meet current standards and should be reviewed to ensure safety.
