Morganite typically originates from pegmatites, a type of intrusive igneous rock. These form in the final stages of magma crystallization, when residual fluids rich in beryllium and other rare elements concentrate. As the pegmatite cools, these fluids interact with existing minerals, leading to crystal growth. The presence of manganese is responsible for its delicate hues ranging from pink to pink-orange. The intensity of the color is directly related to the concentration of Mn2+ ions within the crystal lattice. Some Morganite may also be heat-treated to enhance their color.
