Description from the seller

Rediscover Analog Purity — Ortofon SKG-212 Vintage Tonearm

Step back in time to the golden age of hi-fi: the Ortofon SKG-212 was introduced in the early 1960s by Ortofon as part of their classic 212-series tonearms — a line revered for balancing practical design with high-fidelity performance.

Built to deliver robust, dependable performance while preserving the warm, organic character of vinyl playback, this 12-inch tonearm remains a favorite among vintage-audio purists, collectors and restoration enthusiasts.

Key Specifications

Overall arm length: 12″ (≈ 305 mm)

Lateral (effective) arm length: 9 1/8″

Cartridge offset angle: 22.7°

Tracking force range: 0 – 10 g (counterweight-balanced, calibrated in grams)

Arm resonance frequency: ~ 10 Hz (damped to minimise resonances)

Plug-in headshell: Accepts virtually any cartridge; adjustable cartridge overhang for precise alignment.

Why It Still Matters

Vintage authenticity: As a product of the 1950s–60s tonearm lineage, the SKG-212 embodies the analog-era workmanship and sonic character that defined hi-fi for decades.

Reliable and versatile: Its modest but wide tracking-force range and universal plug-in headshell make it compatible with many cartridges — ideal for collectors, restorers or anyone building a classic turntable

Please note the following
Please see the detailed photographs as they are part of the description and form part of the sale. This is the item you will receive.

There are no cables or headshell included.
The headshell alignment notch is at the bottom of the tube not the top.

I have rebuilt the counterweight tube configuration as it fell apart with age, however I did not glue the 1st tube interconnect in order to facilitate the rewireing of the device
My advice is to have her rewired simply due to age.
We pack with our custom double box and bubble wrap system and we pack for the safety of the item not for economy.
