Uruguayan amethyst druzy specimen with calcite crystal, weighing 1982 g, 127 mm high, 115 mm wide and 95 mm deep.
Description from the seller
This natural amethyst druse from Uruguay represents an excellent example of the basaltic production typical of this geological area, known for the chromatic intensity and brilliance of the crystals. The geode cavity is lined with well-formed amethyst crystals, with sharp terminations and shiny surfaces, characterized by a deep, saturated purple coloration, with slight tonal variations ranging from intense purple to lighter shades towards the extremities. The dense arrangement of crystals creates a sparkling and compact effect, enhanced by good transparency and the natural reflection of light on the crystal faces. A particularly interesting element is the presence of a cream-ivory colored calcite crystal, grown inside the druse in stark color contrast with the amethyst. The calcite shows a crystalline structure with slightly satinated surfaces and a massive appearance, yet harmoniously integrated into the cavity.
