The Helmut Newton SUMO was a gigantic book in every sense: it broke records in terms of weight, dimensions, and resale price. With a weight of 35.4 kilograms, TASCHEN and Helmut Newton created a groundbreaking book that far surpassed anything previously attempted, both in conceptual extravagance and technical specifications. Published in a limited edition of 10,000 signed and numbered copies, the SUMO was sold out shortly after release and quickly appreciated in value. Today, copies can be found in numerous major collections around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
