Decorative tray - Eduard Steiter - Austria

A silver tray crafted in Vienna in the fourth quarter of the 19th century from 800 silver in the goldsmith's workshop of Eduard Steiter (established in 1889). It arches upwards with a profiled rim and features two decorative handles on the sides. The tray's mirror is decorated with engraved floral ornaments, and in the center are initials AR or RA . For practical reasons, the goldsmith added an original wooden support to the base to support heavier loads and enhance stability.
In two places, the Viennese hallmarks for 800 silver, used between 1872 and 1922, are visible, as well as the goldsmith's workshop mark in the form of the "ES" monogram – Eduard Steiter. It is in very good condition, with no signs of physical damage or repairs. Visible minor scratches, natural patina of time.
