A refined and rare example of early Viennese modernism, this vanity mirror No. 1135 was designed by Josef Hoffmann for Jacob & Josef Kohn circa 1905. With its tall arched form and subtly curved supports, the piece reflects Hoffmann’s restrained geometric language and the functional elegance of the Wiener Werkstätte.
Executed in beech wood with a light finish, the mirror stands out for its balanced proportions and minimalist construction—typical of Hoffmann’s move away from ornamentation toward clarity of form. The craftsmanship and design details are both practical and quietly expressive.
