Two books on automobile history: La mémoire de l'automobile 1895-1995 Berry, Poitou, Val de Loire by Jean-Luc Ribemon and Jacques-Henri Lartigue et les autos, first French edition, published in 1974, 290 pages, in very good condition.
Description from the seller
I recommend two excellent books on the history of the automobile.
The Memory of the Automobile 1895-1995 Berry, Poitou, Val de Loire, by Jean-Luc Ribemon
This work, published 30 years ago, contains two parts.
The first presents the earliest motor races that took place in Poitou, the Val de Loire, and Berry, either entirely or in part, namely the 1895 Paris-Bordeaux-Paris race, the city-to-city races from 1895 to 1903, and the dramatic Paris-Madrid race, interrupted in Bordeaux in 1903 due to numerous accidents, several of which were fatal, that marked the first stage from Paris to Bordeaux. This account is richly illustrated with many period photographs.
The second part focuses on the builders who existed in Berry (namely the departments of Cher and Indre), in Poitou (the departments of Deux-Sèvres and Vienne), and in the Val de Loire (the departments of Indre and Loire, Loir and Cher, Loiret, and Maine and Loire).
In conclusion, we list the automobile museums of Cher, Indre, Indre and Loire, Loir and Cher, Maine and Loire, and Vienne.
A valuable source of documents for both the enthusiast and the automotive historian.
2/ Jacques-Henri Lartigue and Cars
A selection of 100 photos of cars from the beginnings of the automobile until the 1950s, taken by the renowned photographer passionate about automobiles. 100 masterpieces of automotive photography eagerly await you.
