Description from the seller

Fang masks originate from the Bantou ethnic group, primarily located in Gabon and Cameroon, and to a lesser extent in Congo and the Central African Republic. The helmet masks were used by a brotherhood (Ngil) whose members acted as vigilantes: dressed in raphia costumes and wearing this type of mask, they emerged from the forests at night to frighten sorcerers who practiced black magic and invoked evil spirits.
