The uniqueness of Plantation rums lies in their double maturation. First, they rest in American oak barrels, mainly ex-bourbon. The tropical climate of their homeland allows for the faster release of more aggressive, volatile vapors in young rums. Later, they travel to France, where they mature in French oak ex-cognac barrels.

Barge 166 is a barge that was built in 1948 to transport people and cargo on the river. Maison Ferrand completely renovated this historic ship into a swinging cellar located in the cargo hold. There you will find racks for 1,500 30-liter barrels, which are used for private bottling.
