Roco H0 diesel locomotive BR 288 DB, catalog 70116, one item in original packaging, nearly new condition, DC power, analogue and digital control with sound, digital address 3, front and rear lights change with direction, four driven axles on two motors.

4 axes powered by 2 motors.
V188 001 and V188 002 were the only diesel-electric double locomotives in service with the DB. The nickname of the V188 was 'Walli'. The locomotive was specially built for use during World War II. It was deployed for transporting heavy war materials. After the war, the locomotives were thoroughly overhauled. The engines were replaced with modern units. The braking systems, heating, and other installations were also updated to meet current standards. They were used in heavy freight transport. They never really gained popularity. In 1971, they were finally retired from service.
