Description from the seller
Le Furieux is a French frigate, built in Cherbourg from 1795 to 1796, launched on September 22, 1796, and armed in May 1798.
The ship, which could carry 48 cannons, was used to transport troops (and coffee and sugar) from Guadeloupe to France. In July 1809, it attacked a British merchant ship, after which it was itself attacked by a British corvette. Armed with only 20 cannons and attacked by a much more maneuverable ship, it sustained heavy damage and surrendered.
After performing preliminary repairs, the ship was taken to Halifax by the English, where it was commissioned into service by the British Royal Navy—as HMS Stealth—in 1811, following a repair period of 2 years.
The ship first joined the British squadron that blockaded Toulon, then participated in various operations in the Mediterranean until the fall of the Empire, and subsequently departed in 1814 to Bermuda to support British troops at the end of the Anglo-American War.
La Furieuse was taken out of service in the autumn of 1815 and was sold in October 1816 to be scrapped at the shipyard in Deptford, United Kingdom.
The model is in new condition and is packaged in a box measuring 100 cm x 80 cm x 33 cm.
Considering the size of the package, the shipping costs vary by country. The shipping costs indicated here are therefore only indicative and not binding.
If the package cannot be collected, the most appropriate shipping method will be chosen in consultation with the seller. The already charged shipping cost will then be settled accordingly.
