Two watercolour drawings by Jacques Denoël, titled Klimmen in de fruitboom – Samen bij de draaimolen, dated 2001, in excellent condition, each measuring 30 cm high by 24 cm wide.
Description from the seller
Two very nice watercolor drawings from 2001 and 2003, drawn on thick drawing paper by artist Jacques Denoël, featuring subjects such as Alex, Arno, antique costumes, the Etruscans 1 + 2, Nimes Le Pont du Gard. He worked with Jacques Martin on these comics.
He illustrated the album Le Jeu de Kermadec in 1991, part of the series Les Aventures de Valérie. In 1992, he contributed to the monthly magazine Le Bouquine by Bayard Presse. In 2005 and 2007, he co-created the series Les Déesses with scenarist Michel Pierret.
I once bought these two watercolor drawings in Saive near Liège from the artist himself, who was signing at a fair there. I don't understand what the meaning is, as I don't speak French. But they are nice, especially with those colors. The images seem to take place somewhere in Liège (Liège), judging by the background of the drawings. Many comic artists come from Liège and the surrounding region.
