Shepard Fairey, known worldwide as OBEY, is one of the most influential urban artists of our time, and the creator of the iconic “HOPE” image of Barack Obama.

AK-47 Lotus is an iconic offset lithograph by Shepard Fairey in which an AK-47 is combined with a lotus flower, a traditional symbol of peace, purity, and rebirth. The work establishes a strong contrast between violence and spirituality, and critiques the glorification of weapons within contemporary political and media culture.

This image derives from an anti-war poster that Fairey initially created as street art in the early 2000s.
