Acrocanthosaurus
Classification: Belongs to the order Saurischia → superfamily Allosauroidea → genus Acrocanthosaurus. It is a large carnivorous dinosaur.
Geological Age & Distribution: Lived during the Early Cretaceous period (approximately 125 to 105 million years ago). Fossils have been primarily discovered in North America, including regions of the United States and Canada.
Size & Ecological Niche: Adult individuals reached a body length of approximately 11–12 meters and a weight of 4–6 tons. As one of the top predators in North America at that time, it was comparable in size to Allosaurus, but existed in an earlier geological era.
