This acrylic painting on canvas depicts a scene with a strong sensory charge: a figure partially submerged in water, viewed in a very close-up from an unusual and intimate perspective. What at first glance seems to be a simple body posture gains symbolic depth thanks to the treatment of light, water, and matter, transforming the body into a terrain where the physical and the poetic intertwine.
From a chromatic perspective, the work is dominated by a warm palette of earthy and golden tones that contrast with the vibrant blue stripe of water surrounding the figure. The undulations of light that the water projects onto the skin create a network of golden reflections, as if the body were tattooed with sunlight. This effect, achieved with technical precision through glazes and loose yet controlled brushstrokes, creates a sense of constant movement and a sensual tension between the body surface and the liquid envelope.
The intense red of the swimsuit provides a point of chromatic and symbolic rupture. It is a dramatic accent that introduces a carnal energy, a vital vibration that dialogues with the enveloping softness of the water. This garment also transforms into a narrative element: the gesture of the hand that holds it suggests an action suspended in time, ambiguous and powerful, charged with desire, self-care, or freedom.
Conceptually, the work approaches the body from a perspective that is not merely erotic nor explicitly provocative, but deeply introspective. It speaks of the body as a living territory, as a surface that breathes, that allows itself to be touched by water and light. The chosen point of view — intimate, fragmented, and almost tactile — challenges the conventions of portraiture and compels us to look carefully at what is usually considered accessory. The body is neither idealized nor hidden: it is presented as it is, with its textures, volumes, and pulsions.
This piece is ideal for collectors who value contemporary art with expressive power, conceptual depth, and technical quality. It explores sensuality without falling into the obvious, transforming everyday elements — water, skin, light — into a transformative aesthetic experience.
