Set of two Biedermeier wine or decanter stoppers – Dutch silver – Van Kempen & Zn. – ca. 1858-1924.

Description:
A refined set of two silver bottle or decanter stoppers from the Biedermeier period, made by Van Kempen & Zn. in Voorschoten, one of the most prominent Dutch silversmiths of the 19th and early 20th centuries (active 1858–1924).

Both stoppers are marked with the Dutch sword (hallmark for 835 silver) and the maker's mark of Van Kempen & Zn.
The design reflects the elegant simplicity of the Biedermeier style, with a slender, conical top and a cut glass fitting.
