Ring - 11ct color-changing alexandrite - Mexico (No reserve price)

A special vintage silver ring from Taxco, Mexico, signed with the maker's mark JRM. The ring features a larger faceted color-changing stone set between two stylized leaves. The stone has a diameter of 12.5 mm (11 carats). The Presidium gem tester identifies it as Chrysoberil; the color variant in this ring (blue to magenta-purple) is known in the trade as Alexandrite. The photos were taken under different light sources to highlight the difference. The gem tester cannot rule out that the stone is synthetic. Given its size and purity, that seems quite likely. Nevertheless, it is a very lively stone, and the effect is magical ;).
