Description from the seller
Brunello di Montalcino – Tenuta Luce, Frescobaldi 2017
Tenuta Luce belongs to the historic Frescobaldi family, deeply rooted in Tuscan winemaking for centuries. Their Brunello di Montalcino is produced from carefully selected Sangiovese vineyards and interprets the appellation with a modern but respectful approach, focusing on clarity of fruit and balance rather than power.
The 2017 vintage was shaped by a warm, dry growing season, resulting in wines that are more immediately expressive and open. This Brunello shows ripe red fruit, hints of plum, Mediterranean herbs, and light balsamic notes. On the palate it is round and supple, with softer tannins and a smooth, flowing texture.
Compared to more structured years, the 2017 stands out for its accessibility and early drinkability. While it can evolve for several years, it is particularly appealing in the medium term, offering a generous and straightforward expression of Brunello that emphasizes pleasure and balance.
James Suckling: 96–97/100
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: 94/100
Decanter: 94/100
Veronelli: 93/100
