Hollands Louis XVI secretary desk with a flap, late 18th century.
Overhoeks styles installed with beautifully detailed inlaid trim and corner pieces / motifs on the lid, shells on the doors below. (See photos)
Beautiful continuous front flower mahogany veneer (on oak)
Round gilded brass fittings on the upper drawer, lid, and doors.
Writing board covered with green felt / fabric.
No tears in the flap, doors, or sides.
Old restorations from a later date.
Locks and keys are functional. Entirely on tapered legs with grooves. The two doors of the lower cabinet are bent, but can still be closed.
Holland circa 1775 - 1795
Afm:
H = 146 cm.
B = 85-90 cm. (smallest to biggest)
D = 41 - 44 cm. (deepest - deepest)
Recently thoroughly inspected for loose parts of construction and veneer. No live woodworm found as of 16/12/2025.
