Description from the seller
A splendid specimen of Megalodon's tooth.
Found in layers dating from the Miocene to the Pliocene, the teeth of the largest marine predator that ever existed continue to attract many enthusiasts.
Considered a relative of the present-day great white shark, the Megalodon, based on the teeth found, it must have reached lengths between 18 and 20 meters.
The state of preservation is good, and signs of wear have occurred while the animal was alive. Feeding on large mammals, the teeth often suffered damage upon contact with the bones of the prey.
The images are part of the description.
