Description from the seller
Comoros Islands. 1 Franc. 1964.
- Value: 1 Franc.
Year: 1964.
- Inscriptions: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE surrounding the female bust with winged hat and date at the bottom; on the reverse, ARCHIPEL DES COMORES with a value of 1 FRANC between palm trees, tropical vegetation, and landscape elements.
- Grade: MS63 (NGC).
Coin issued during the period when the archipelago of the Comoros was part of the French overseas territories, featuring a design characteristic of French colonial iconography. The obverse presents a female allegory in profile, of a classical style, finely modeled with good detail in the hair and headdress, while the reverse shows a very representative tropical composition of the region, highlighting the palm tree and lush vegetation. The specimen retains an attractive original shine, with well-defined reliefs and slight contact marks typical of the grade, offering a very balanced and visually pleasing presentation within this modern African issue.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make it absolutely clear that I ship from Spain. This means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (for example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs, and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and is completely out of our control. Thank you for your understanding.
