Description from the seller
Magnificent centerpiece composed of two distinct elements in tinted molded-pressed glass Rosaline from the famous Luxval line by the Belgian crystal manufacturer Val Saint Lambert. This iconic model, Rosette, designed by designers Charles Graffart and René Delvenne, appears in the 1935 Luxval catalog — an innovative Art Deco collection that marked the history of Belgian decorative glass.
The raised decor of rosettes and swirling spirals offers a captivating visual effect and sublime play of light. The Rosaline hue, achieved by adding gold to the glass paste, imparts a warm, subtle pale pink shade that elegantly oscillates between salmon and champagne depending on the lighting.
The set consists of two independent and matching pieces.
A large cup with a body richly decorated with raised rosettes.
A festooned plate or display stand with the same refined pattern, ideal for holding the cup or being used separately.
Approximate dimensions
Plate/display stand: diameter 33 cm × height 4 cm (weight approximately 1.8 kg).
- Coupe: diameter 23 cm × height 10 cm (weight approximately 2 kg)
Remarkable condition for a piece from the 1930s: crystal-clear and sparkling glass, with a uniform and vibrant color, free of chips or restorations. Slight traces of use (typical of the molded-pressed Luxval production of the time) do not diminish its beauty or authenticity in any way.
A rare opportunity to acquire an authentic Rosette Luxval in Rosaline, an iconic and highly sought-after piece of Belgian Art Deco. Perfect as a luxurious centerpiece, to display fruits or treats, or simply as an exceptional decorative object.
The set will be shipped with extreme care, in reinforced and insured professional packaging.
