Description from the seller
AUSTRIA. Vienna. 2 Schilling. 1931
Valor: 2 Schilling.
Year: 1931.
- Inscriptions: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart surrounding the right-profile bust with the dates 1756–1931; on the reverse, Republik Oesterreich with the value 2 Schilling in the center, surrounded by the coats of arms of the Austrian provinces.
- Grade: MS63 (NGC).
Commemorative coin issued on the occasion of the bicentennial of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birth, one of the most universal composers in music history and an emblematic figure of Austria. The obverse features a classic and balanced portrait of the composer, with detailed treatment of the hair, attire, and facial features, conveying serenity and refinement. The reverse maintains the characteristic heraldic design of the Austrian commemorative series, with regional shields arranged around the face value, reinforcing the national character of the issue. The specimen retains visible original shine, with well-defined reliefs and light contact marks consistent with a MS63 grade, making it a very attractive piece both for its artistic value and its cultural significance within interwar period numismatics.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make it absolutely clear that I ship from Spain. This means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (for example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs, and they might ask you to pay taxes.
