Bronze axe from ancient Persia.
Luristan, 1200 to 1000 BC.
Fan-shaped combat blade with thickened edges, socket adorned with moldings at the top and bottom.
The patina is brown with some shades of green.
The total length of this piece is 14.6 cm, and its width is 5.8 cm.
Perfectly preserved piece. A superb example of this type of axe used in Persia during the Bronze Age.
Provenance: United Kingdom, P.X.R.
