Description from the seller

Netherlands

Bronze Cross

The 'Bronze Cross' (1830-1831) was created by royal decree in 1831. It was awarded to Dutch military personnel who participated in the ten-day campaign in Brussels that same year and to all Dutch military and naval personnel who served in the campaigns of 1830 to 1831. The decorations were made from two cannons captured at Hasselt, and for this reason, the Cross is sometimes called the Hasselt Cross.
The bronze cross bears an inscription on the obverse that translates to 'Loyalty to the king and the homeland.' There are two other versions of the Bronze Cross that differ in engraving and inscription. The Bronze Cross (with honorable mention) is topped with an oak wreath, and the Bronze Cross (for volunteers) has an additional inscription on the reverse.

Java War Medal

1825-1830

The Java Medal was created by royal decree in 1831 and was awarded to European military personnel and indigenous officers for their service during the Java War between 1825 and 1830.
