Description from the seller

Biscuit sculpture depicting Marie Antoinette (1755-1793), the Archduchess of Austria who became the wife of King Louis XVI and the last queen of France.
Very old, 19th century
His face is slightly turned to the right. His headdress, made of curls and braid, is complemented by a ribbon, a row of pearls, and a diadem. On the latter, a fleur de lys recalls the line of the young woman with a tragic destiny, while, moreover, the queen is depicted without jewelry, with simplicity.
Her shoulders are covered by a fabric, naturally knotted over her chest, with a hint of lace visible underneath.
This bust rests on a truncated column, in the Louis XVI style, with fluted and rudentated grooves, and is adorned at the front with a laurel crown.
This humble work ends with a square terrace.
Everyone will feel empathy or admiration for the woman, the mother, or the queen that was Marie Antoinette, who undoubtedly remains an iconic figure in French history.
