Pre-industrial kitchen set. Hand-carved wood and forged iron. Europe. Ca. 1850–1900.
Description
This set comes from the daily kitchen practice of the 19th century.
No props
No reconstructions
These are everyday objects that were placed above fire and stove every day.
The set consists of five parts.
Everything original.
All used for what it was made for.
Origin and Period
Europe.
Circa 1850 to 1900
Farmhouse kitchen and open fire.
The shapes are irregular.
The finish is rough.
The wood shows dryness cracks and discoloration caused by heat and grease.
The iron bears a deep, matte patina from years of use.
This type of objects was not preserved.
They become worn out and are replaced.
That is precisely why a complete set is rare.
