Description from the seller
Greece. 10 Lepta. 1973.
- Value: 10 Lepta.
- Year: 1973.
Inscriptions: On the obverse, ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ with the phoenix reborn and the date at the bottom; on the reverse, ΑΞΙΑ 10 ΛΕΠΤΑ with a central trident flanked by two dolphins.
- Grade: MS66 (PCGS).
Circulating coin issued during the period of the Greek Military Junta, identifiable by the use of the Phoenix as the regime's symbol, representing national 'rebirth' according to its ideology. The obverse shows a stylized Phoenix with outstretched wings, with excellent detail in the feathers and fields, while the reverse features a well-balanced maritime composition, with the trident and dolphins finely engraved and well-centered. The specimen stands out for its extraordinary state of preservation, with intense original shine, uniform silver tone, and fully defined reliefs, characteristics that justify its high MS66 grade and make it an outstanding piece within contemporary Greek numismatics.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make it absolutely clear that I ship from Spain. This means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (for example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs, and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and is completely out of our control. Thank you for your understanding.
