Ordovician aged Brittle Star (Ophuira sp) from the Tiouririne Formation, with its outcrops in South Morocco. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidation of iron sulfide. No crack repairs. Its outline has been excavated to highlight the specimen. You can see a lot of detail preserved in the arms and the body. About restorations: Only two of its "arms" have color enhancement since they were not as well preserved as the other 3 ones.
These starfish are typically heavily restored and many times just painted onto the rock. In the case of this specimen its pretty good and full natural and genuine.

If you find that your certificate has not yet been updated, please contact us and we will update it immediately. Display box not included.
