Hand-painted psalm book rack (psalm book shelf), Sweden, second half of the 19th century / early 20th century.

Rare wooden psalm books rack (psalm book shelf), likely made in Sweden in the second half of the 19th or early 20th century. The rack features hand-painted floral decorations in red and green with gold accents on an ochre background with gold-colored edges. Such floral decorations are characteristic of painted Swedish folk art from that period.

The rack was traditionally used to place psalm books against the wall. The rack is equipped with a bookshelf, a back panel, and a storage compartment. At the rear, there is a hanging eyelet.
