Ancient Roman terracotta oil lamp in a circular body with a central discus decorated by a crouching goat, two refill holes surrounded by high-relief medallions, an elongated nozzle, a rear handle and a short ring foot; 14.2 cm long, condition: minor chips but otherwise intact.

Circular body, the central discus decorated with a crouching goat, two refilling holes encircled by a row of a medallions in high relief, an elongated nozzle with channel, single handle to rear, set on a short ring foot.
Size: 14.2 cm L - 5 9/16 inches
Material: Terracotta
Culture: Roman, c. 2nd-4th Century A.D.
Condition: Minor chips, otherwise intact
Provenance: Previously with Royal-Athena Galleries, New York; Raport Collection, acquired from the above, 17 November 1984; Lloyd and Jeanne Raport Collection, Washington DC and Florida, formed between 1972 – 2000.
