Two decorative industrial ship tackle blocks from the Netherlands dating to the late 19th century, featuring a wrought iron wheel and oak framing in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Two very beautiful and decorative pulleys. These industrial pulleys are probably from 19th-century Dutch shipping. They likely date from the second half of the 19th century. The dimensions:
The largest one has a hook and eye, measuring 24cm high, 9cm wide, and 7cm deep. The pulley has an iron wheel, and the weight is approximately 1.2kg.
The slightly smaller pulley has a hook and measures 20cm high, 9.5cm wide, and 5.5cm deep. This pulley features a wooden wheel, and the weight is approximately 0.7kg.
The pulleys have a very beautiful wood grain. The wood is very well preserved. The wheels still turn smoothly on their axles. The hooks are also particularly beautiful and intact. Although the pulleys are about 150 years old, you could still lift heavy loads with them. All original connecting materials, such as the central bolt and the rivets, are still original (see photos).
The wood with its gloss is very beautiful. The wooden rollers and the wrought iron rivets used to construct the wooden frame give this pulley an atmospheric and captivating appearance! The wood and the weathered metal have been preserved and have a lovely shine.
Both pulleys are still 100% original and seem to have been taken from an old harbor scene. In any interior, these ship's tools serve as decorative items and conversation pieces, but they can also be used to hang kitchen utensils, a coat rack, or a lamp.
The pulleys are skillfully packed and shipped insuredly.
