2020 silver 999.9, two troy ounces (62.2 g) from the United Kingdom, new, with a 5 pound denomination, Queen's Beasts Lion White Mortimer, designed by Jody Clark, 100,000 minted.
Description from the seller
The 2-ounce 999.9 silver coin 'White Lion of Mortimer' is the eighth coin in the Queen's Beasts series produced by the Royal Mint, released in 2020.
The piece is made of pure silver and weighs 2 ounces, or 62.2 grams of pure silver. The British Royal Mint produced 100,000 coins, even though officially production is unlimited until the end of the year of the coin's release. The coin was designed by the designer and engraver Jody Clark. The White Lion of Mortimer is another beast inherited from the family of Edward IV of the House of York, and it was King George IV's favorite emblem before his coronation, who was the father of Elizabeth II.
On the obverse of the coin is depicted the Mortimer Lion, which does not wear a crown and has a blue tongue. This lion is seated rather than standing on its hind legs, equipped with a shield bearing the emblem of York, which is the white rose. The reverse, on the other hand, features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen's Beast statues still exist, but they are kept at the Canadian Museum of History, and stone replicas are erected at the Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew.
The face value of the coin is 5 pounds sterling.
