Bronze elongated handle with carved lines in the middle and ending in a hook embellished with the head a duck, probably belonging to a trulla, a ladle or a strainer. Nice red/green patina.
A trulla or patera is a bowl, usually made of bronze and typically used as a sacred libation vessel during religious events, though the patera could also be used in the domestic sphere for the preparation or serving of food items.

Size: 14.3 cm L - 5 5/8 inches
Material: Bronze
Culture: Etruscan, c. 4th-3rd Century B.C.
Condition: Part of a trulla, ladle or strainer


Provenance: with Faustus Gallery, London, acquired between the 1970s-1990s.
